This Is Our Story

Jason and Eric grew up in Nikiski, Alaska, a small town on the west side of the Kenai Peninsula. They had a unique childhood, as they could explore the vast wilderness of forests, lakes, rivers, and beaches that surrounded them. They learned to love nature and adventure, and to respect the wildlife and the environment. They also became lifelong friends, hunting pals, and business partners.

As adults, they wanted to share their passion for the outdoors with their families and others. They started taking their children to the same places they had visited as kids and enjoyed seeing them discover the beauty and wonder of Alaska. One day they realized most people don't have the opportunity, equipment, or knowledge necessary to experience the real Alaska, where civilization ends, and the wild and scenic spaces begin.

That's when they decided to create a tour company offering guided trips to the wild and scenic spaces of the Kenai Peninsula. They named it "AKScenic Adventures", and they invited their former high school biology teacher, hunting partner, and mentor Phil to join them as a guide. Phil had a wealth of knowledge about the local flora and fauna, as well as the history and culture of the area. He also grew-up on a local homestead where he learned valuable bushcraft skills necessary to survive and thrive in a wilderness setting.

Together, these friends designed tours catering to different interests and abilities, from relaxed 4-wheeling beach treks to off-road mountain adventures. They wanted to show their guests the amazing scenery, wildlife, and natural resources of Alaska, as well as give them a glimpse of the lifestyle and serenity that is still achievable when you leave the grid and it's social pressures behind.

AKScenic Adventures is more than just a tour company. It is a way of life for Jason, Eric, Phil, and their families. They are proud of their hometown and their state, and they are eager to share it with anyone who wants to see it for themselves. They believe everyone should have a chance to experience the real Alaska, where the wild and scenic adventures begin.

They look forward to having fun and make lasting memories with you and your family soon.
